AJ Dental Holds Grand Opening Ceremony in Danbury

The elevator opens at the lobby on the fourth floor, and as you walk in, you notice that the spa-inspired décor creates an atmosphere that does not resemble a dental office. It’s the perfect setting to ease the anxiety of patients who will go to the dentist only when absolutely necessary. The new location was officially inaugurated on June 30 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony conducted by Danbury Mayor Mark D. Boughton and a cocktail reception.

“I just would like to thank AJ Dental for investing its money here, particularly on Main Street in our city,” said Mayor Boughton.

The mayor presented a plaque recognizing AJ Dental  to Dr. Adauri Soprani, saying, “It is a little thing but you are big in our heart, and we want you to know that. We wish you all the best success here in this beautiful facility. Parabéns!”

Dr. Soprani faced many challenges to become the professional he is today. Born in Espirito Santo, Brazil, he experienced loss at age of six, when his father passed away. His first job was selling ice cream at a bus station when he was nine years old, to help his mother care for his two young siblings. His hard work paid off when he was granted a scholarship from the local government to work at a major local metallurgical company. Working during the day and studying at night was how he came to be accepted at the Universidade Federal do Espirito Santo College of Odontology in 2004, where later he received a scholarship to study chemistry in the United States in December of 2005.

In 2008, Dr. Soprani received a scholarship to attend New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 2012. Upon his graduation, he worked in West Hartford, serving the community for 18 months, before moving to Waterbury, where he practiced dentistry up until the opening of his first dental office in downtown Danbury.

“When we built this office, our priority was to create an atmosphere that would eliminate fear of the dentist from the moment a patient walks out of the elevator and enters our reception area,” said Thales Lopes, vice president of AJ Dental and the company that manages the practice, Forty-Eight Management, Inc.

Sergio da Silva, a patient at AJ Dental, expressed his satisfaction with Dr. Soprani’s skills and the staff’s customer service: “They really care about all aspects of your treatment. Dr. Soprani makes sure you understand every part of the process and his staff are really pleasant and friendly,” he said. “I have referred them to many of my friends.”

Committed to a high quality of care and service to each patient, Dr. Soprani performs a myriad of oral surgeries, cosmetic dentistry and general dentistry services, such as composite fillings, dental bonding, dental Bridge, Invisalign®, lower and upper dentures, non-surgical gum treatment, porcelain veneers, restoration of dental implants, root canal and ultrasonic dental cleaning, among others.

“I love what I do and, for that reason, I am always looking for ways to perfect myself and learn new technologies to improve my work and offer my patients the best service possible,” concluded Dr. Soprani.
